Literature Text

Mercy has not
found my heart,
inhabited by
perpetual sorrow;
bleak, hollow,
yet profound.

Bludgeoning
are the words
that are cast
like stones,
tearing at
my exterior.

I bleed profusely
while my soul
evades another
bout of insanity.

I hate to quote U2, but "I still haven't found what I'm looking for." It feels as if this "need" is tearing at my heart and soul.

My lifeless fingers trace the surface.
For these lines exist in lithic memory.
In colonnades where light, weight, and form.
Shatter like a thousand breaking bones.
